More cool vinyl...

Here's another piece of cool vinyl from my collection. This one is from Montreal punk rockers, Fifth Hour Hero.

It's hard to tell in the first picture, but you can see that it's clear with bits of color when I hold it in the sun.

The record was released by No Idea Records who always puts their best foot forward with the colored vinyl and completely outdid themselves here.

It reminds me of something from the 70's where they spin a piece of cardboard and you squirt paint on it and it makes a picture kind of like that.

Rob - I'm always a sucker for colored vinyl, so I have a fair bit of it, but this is definitely one of the best.

Mark - You mean Spin Art! It's not just a phenomenon of the 70s though. It still shows up at the carnival and kids (and Linda and I) still love it! You're right though, that's exactly what this LP looks like.

Wow, that's some pretty cool stuff.

I want to get more vinyl in my collection...I have been looking for a fold out version of Shout at the Devil for about a year now.

Allyson, I know you're about 8-10 years younger than I am, so you probably grew up just outside the vinyl era, but there is some really great stuff out there. There have been some fine CD packages, but there's so much more opportunity for vinyl to be cool.

I have Shout at the Devil on vinyl with the gatefold and it's a nice package. The pentagram on the front is really subtle, because it's glossy black on a soild black background. It's a nice package. I remember my mom taking me to buy it when I was 13.
